Here at What Books Press, after a long stretch of time editing and finalizing four fantastic new books for release this fall, 2021 (official announcement in the works), we're now ready to start thinking about 2022. To that end, we have opened our submittable page for both poetry and fiction. Please take a look at our home page on this site, along with our list of previously published books, and, if you think you have a ms. that fits, we'd love to see 20 pages of it at:
https://whatbookspress.submittable.com/submit chat with our new authors!AWP is entirely virtual this year, but if you have paid to attend, You'll be pleased to know that each of our four new authors is appearing online for conversation with readers and fans. Here is the schedule:
Mark your calendars! On November 8th, at 3 pm, the wonderful Skylight Bookstore in Hollywood will host, as they do every year, our latest book launch. This year it's happening virtually, on Crowdcast, and all four of our new authors will read from their books just now out from What Books Press. As an added bonus, Chuck Rosenthal will read from his new novel, The Hammer, The Sickle and the Heart: Trotsky and Kahlo in Mexico. Good news for poet Bill Mohr. His poem "Wrinkles," excerpted from his very fine What Books Press collection, The Headwaters of Nirvana, was recently featured on poet.com's daily poem page. Congratulations, Bill!
